Project Location:
Bolivia is a landlocked country in central South America. It is bordered by Brazil to the north and east, Paraguay and Argentina to the south, and Chile and Peru to the west. With the Andes mountains passing through the country diagonally tremendous challenges are part of the Bolivian life – whether you live at 4,000 m. or at 400 m.a.s.l. It is the poorest country in South America. The contrast between jungle and harsh mountain conditions is extreme. The poorer you are the higher up the mountain you live. The Cochabamba municipality of Vacas is approximately two hours southeast of the city of Cochabamba in a valley in the Andes at the 12,500 ft level. The villages the project supports are in this municipality.
